GERMAN RAPE CASE: ROHIT REMANDED TO POLICE CUSTODY

Panaji November 6:
Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte's son Rohit, who was booked for allegedly raping a German minor girl, has been remanded to three days police custody by a local court here.
Rohit, who surrendered before Calangute police last afternoon and later arrested was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Mapusa. The court remanded the 21-year-old to police custody for three days.
Rohit's advocate, Arun Braz de Sa contended the police did not require the custody of his client as they had nothing more to attach or record in the case. The police had moved the court seeking seven days remand for Rohit, accused of raping a 14-year-old German girl.
