Friendship Day: Famous frenemies who make screaming headline
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan
These two Bollywood powerhouses have consistently been in news for their personal equation. Their love hate relationship that has now stretched on for years has made headlines at the slightest flutter. A brawl at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008 saw the two part ways for five years and divided the entire film industry in two rigid and impregnable camps. They have recently hugged and made up, in what seems the biggest 'frenemy' coup of the year. King Khan has taken the bonhomie a step further by inviting Dabangg Salman for an Iftaar party later this week, thus silencing speculations that the hug was a one off stray event.
Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan
Paris Hilton is often attributed to being one of the major troublesome influences in child star Lindsay Lohan's life. Once best friends, these two have gone through a phase when each would steer clear of attending a social do where the other was present. During a feud in 2006 Hilton called Lohan a "firecrotch" for exposing herself on nights-outs without underwear. Once when confronted with one another at a pre-Grammy bash at Avalon in 2008, they openly abused each other. Last heard these two girls are back to their wild partying ways together and have been catching up on all the lost time. After having rekindled their friendship after a six year hiatus, they seem to hitting off just fine.
Kirsten Stewart and Katy Perry
Once best friends Kirsten Stewart and Katy Perry have been warring over Kirsten's ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Perry, who for long had been friends with Pattinson was spotted with him at multiple times post his break-up. Stewart thought Perry was moving in fast on her now estranged man and felt betrayed by Perry's actions. With the growing media speculation and Kirsten's displeasure Perry was forced to text and clarify saying, "You know I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits."
Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan/Shirish Kunder
This actor and director cum choreographer duo shared a great professional and personal equation. But things went sour allegedly with work related woes and Farah hobnobbing with enemy camps. The cold war stretched beyond the two and engulfed Farah's husband Shirish who had openly taken a pot shot at Shah Rukh's Ra.One, calling it a 150 crore firework fizzle. Shah Rukh allegedly roughed him up at a private party in January last year. Realising that things have probably gone too far Farah and Shirish visited the King Khan at his residence a month later and sorted out the issues. The two have since made up and have now paired up for Happy New Year, their third film together.
Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton are two Hollywood celebs who have kept rumour mills spinning with their off and on love hate relationship. Kim first tasted fame as Hilton's best gal pal who accompanied her at every possible outing. Kim quickly grabbed the nation's collective interest with her infamous sex tape and the reality series that followed. Having lost her spot in the sun, Hilton distanced herself from the Kardashian moneyspinner. She at times took pot shots at Kim and at others ignoring and not acknowledging her altogether. Of late though the two have been on decent terms with the Hilton heiress congratulating Kim over her pregnancy and then declaring to the media that they are still friends.
Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker
The feud between the two Sex and the City hotties reportedly created much agony at the sets of the film, by the same name, and eventually led to the delay in its release. The two co-actors, who were once great friends, fell out during the filming of the hit television series. Cattrall was irked no end on having to receive a pay cheque that was much lesser than what Parker took home. Financial dissatisfaction reflected in major and minor tiffs both on and off sets. The two now seem to have buried the hatchet and have been frequently spotted at each other's events and public appearances.
