In a shocking event, four members of a family were brutally murdered Thusday Morning at a house in Preet Colony here. Those killed include an old man, a middle-aged man and two women which sent shock waves across this town of Patiala district.
Police confirmed this news saying that the victims included a middle-aged man and a woman, an 18-year-old girl and a 75-year-old man.
Harbhajan Singh, a police officer, said: 'The victims were murdered, using sharp-edged weapons. We suspect that at least seven people were involved in the crime.'
Police were yet to get any clue about the murder mystery.
'We are taking the help of forensic experts and sniffer dogs to collect clues about this incident. We have sent the bodies to the civil hospital in Patiala for the post-mortem examination. The deceased were natives of a village in Sangrur district,' Singh added.
Nabha town of Patiala district is around 50 km from Chandigarh.
