FOUR ATTACK POLICE BUS TO FREE 3 ACCOMPLICES

Ludhiana November 6:
In an attempt to free their accomplices who did not get bail in a murder case, a group of accused on bail reportedly attacked a police bus carrying undertrials at local court here. The four accused attacked the bus in the parking lot of the court complex.
Though the police thwarted the attempt, it failed to nab the accused. The police have registered a case against all the seven accused, including the four who are already out on bail. Harpreet alias Vicky, Manvinder, Billa and Rampal had allegedly come to free Deepak and Sooraj who are lodged in Borstal jail and Gurcharan Singh who is lodged in the Central jail.
In a seemingly planned effort, the four accused along with some other accomplices, attacked the police bus as soon as it reached the judicial complex in the district courts parking. These accused pelted bricks at the bus thereby smashing the rear window panes of the bus.
To make most of the situation, the undertrials in the bus, around 24 in number, also tried to escape. The police had a harrowing time controlling the visitors, who began to run helter skelter and even damaged the furniture in the court complex.
“We have registered FIR against all the seven accused under Sections 307,353and 106 of the Indian Penal Code. We are investigating the matter and will take a stringent action to nab the culprits,” said DSP Bhupinder Singh.
