Flesh trade racket busted, 11 held

The police has claimed to have busted an inter-state flesh trade racket here after arresting 11 persons, including four girls, allegedly engaged in immoral trafficking. The police, led by ASP-(probation)-cum-SHO, Nurpur, conducted raids in three hotels at Kandwal on the Punjab-Himachal Pradesh border within the jurisdiction of Nurpur municipal council and caught four girls, with their four clients.

According to ASP (probation) Arul Kumar, the police had booked cases under Sections 3-4-5 and 8 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and Section 120 (B), IPC, against accused Nandini and Poonam from Jalandhar, Pooja from Jammu, Reeta Rana from Shahpur (Kangra), along with their clients Ravi Kumar from Sujanpur, Tira (Hamirpur); Ashok Kumar from Samot, Chamba district, Prince from Amritsar and Dharam Singh from Gurdaspur.

“Hotel owner Sanjay and hotel managers Pritam and Anil have also been booked,” he said.
