FATHER OF SHO, TEACHER AMONG 3 KILLED IN ACCIDENT

Amritsar July 9:
In a head on collision morning between a bus and an auto rickshaw, three persons including a teacher and a father of an SHO based in Gurdaspur were killed while six others sustained serious injuries.
The three dead include two women Amarjit Kaur (42) a teacher and Jasbir Kaur (35) besides Jaswant Rai -father of SHO based in Gurdaspur. Among the injured are Raju, driver of the autorickshaw besides 17-year-old Abhaybir Singh, Nirmal Singh, Karaj Singh and two other women Baljinder Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur.
According to reports, the injured have been admitted to hospital and their condition is critical. The accident occurred on the Khasa road housing barracks and Head Quarters of BSF, near the BSF gate. According to police, the autorickshaw was passing another vehicle on the road when it got rammed by bus coming from the opposite direction.The collision was so loud that people from nearby areas rushed to the spot .
The auto was swept under the bus with the impact of the collision and split into parts. People who had gathered there could not help the victims as they got entangled with the parts of the auto and could not be pulled out initially. Later the police with the help from BSF overturned the bus and extracted the bodies and survivors from under the bus. A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC against the bus driver Jaspal Singh who fled the scene after the accident.
