The Court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Vineet Kumar today granted bail to a Pakistani Hindu, Vaasu Ram, who was arrested here yesterday for possessing Rs 15,000 in fake currency.

Vaasu is a part of the Hindu jatha that arrived here on Thursday.

It is learnt that the accused procured the counterfeit notes in the denomination of Rs 500 at a cheaper deal from Pakistan.

“We had sought police remand of the accused for further interrogation but had to give up before the court orders”, said the SHO of the Kotwali police station.
