Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif's detention in Dubai was result of a misunderstanding and charges of possessing contraband drugs against the pacer has been dropped, according to Pakistan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Ahsan Ullah Khan.

Khan claimed a misunderstanding led to Asif's detention in Dubai airport on Sunday on his way home from Mumbai after the pacer participated in the Indian Premier League.
