DONATE GENEROUSLY FOR FLOOD-HIT PEOPLE OF BIHAR: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said appealed to the people to donate generously to help fund the relief and rehabilitation measures for the flood-affected people of Bihar.
He said the contributions can be made to "The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund" (PMNRF) which would be eligible for 100 per cent income tax deduction. Contributions can also be made directly to the branches of State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Dena Bank, Syndicate Bank, Corporation Bank, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank and Indian Bank.
Allahabad Bank, Citi Bank, Canara Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered, HSBC Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank would also receive the funds. While nationalised banks would not charge any commission on preparation of drafts favouring the PMNRF, no commission would be charged on contributions sent through money orders, an official release said.
