Suspected followers of Dera Sacha Sauda continued to target public properties and even attacked a bus parked inside the residential complex of a senior Punjab minister and set afire a railway office near Bathinda early Tuesday.

A private bus, belonging to Raghunath Transport Company reportedly owned by Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal, parked in his residential complex at Gidderbaha was set on fire. Two buses belonging to the same company, were set afire at Baghapurana on February 27.

The Punjab Police have decided to set up special investigation teams (SITs) to probe the arson and violent incidents by Dera followers. This comes on a day when two Dera followers, Rajnish and Pritpal Singh of Jandli village, who were arrested for arson, filed their bail applications in Ambala claiming innocence and alleging frame-up by the police.

The trouble broke out in Haryana and Punjab on Saturday when Dera followers went on rampage to register their protest against filing of a fresh murder case against their sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh by CBI.
In Sonepat, three government jeeps parked in Haryana taxation department office premises were burnt by Dera followers on Monday night.

In another incident, miscreants set an office of Behman Diwana railway station on fire around 8 pm on Monday. Bathinda-Malout railway track was damaged by some miscreants — minutes after a passenger train crossed the stretch.
