The numbers of patients continue to rise with around 122 patients testing positive for dengue in the town today.
The district health officials maintained fogging had been intensified as eight hand-held fogging machines besides a fogging van were pressed into service. The officials said the rising number of cases was a cause for concern as after Gurgaon, Hisar had recorded the highest number of positive cases. “The officials have sought more mobile vans for fogging in view of the situation,” sources said. Meanwhile, Dr TP Sharma of the civil hospital urged the citizens to keep their houses clean and do not let water stagnate in the vicinity.
77 cases in Karnal
With 24 more testing positive for dengue in the last two days, the number of patients has gone up to 77 in the district.
The number could be higher as several patients were getting treatment in private hospitals. Civil Surgeon Ashwini Ahuja said while fogging had been done in various areas, 22 teams of the Health Department had been checking the breeding of the aedes mosquito.
