A road construction project for which the sanctioned amount was INR 425cr. was completed with INR 300cr. in the capital city of Delhi. This marked a superior work done by the PWD, Contractors, and the Government. A significant example of strategy and hard work put by them on the task ultimately saved INR 100cr from taxpayers money. The project was conceived during the erstwhile Sheila Dikshit dispensation to offer signal-free commute to the public. This road runs from Mangolpuri to Mubarak Chowk which is a type of elevated road, constructed with single pier technology. Similar examples had been noticed in the past, where the efficiency of work done by bodies like PWD in Delhi is improving. This first section of the road project will be inaugurated on Sunday by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In past also, Delhi Govt had set an example by saving Rs 100 Cr in Azadpur- Prembari flyover.

A Flyover Sanctioned At Rs 250 Cr. Successfully Built Before Time At Rs 150 Cr.

The elevated track of Mangolpuri to Mubarak Chowk will have a six-lane traffic on the top and four-lane traffic on ground. The technology has been employed on the busy Outer Ring Road to avoid congestion at the ground level. The aim of the project is to offer signal free commute to public, sidelining the wastage of time while engaging with traffic.

The Construction of a road project from Vikaspuri to Wazirabad area in Delhi is being carried out by Public Welfare Department. These roads have a heavy traffic and in order to curb the congestion of traffic on 17KM long route this project is being implemented. The whole project is divided into 6 sections and costs INR 2400 cr.

What is Single pier technique?

In this technique the elevated bridge is made by covering the whole span with a single pier in between the full span length. The deck of the passing road is placed on the pier connecting it with cables if span is long and if span length is less the accommodation of deck can be done without cables provided with suitable design of structure. After the inauguration of 1st phase Govt. will focus on the other sections and the whole stretch will be open in short while. However, the project is already delayed which was supposed to complete by May 2015. We wish for a safe completion of the project to Govt. and all the people working for it day and night. They may work with the same efficiency as they completed the 1st section.
