DELHI BLASTS: CHARGESHEET FILED, AL-QAMA MASTERMIND

New Delhi February 27:

The Delhi Police on Friday filed the chargesheet in the Delhi serial blast case, naming Pakistan-based terrorist Abu al-Qama as the mastermind.
The chargesheet names 29 persons as being involved in the dastardly serial attacks that rocked the national capital on September 13 last year. Abu al-Qama and two others Saifur and Arif are thought to be the key plotters.Incidently, al-Qama’s name has also surfaced in the Mumbai attacks chargesheet.

As per reports, Abu al-Qama controls his network from Pakistan and gives directions through phone and Internet to his associates operating in India. He is thought to be deciding on how and when to carry out blasts arcos the eastern border. This revelation by the Delhi Police is likely to complicate things for Pakistan, which is under severe international pressure over the last year’s terror attacks in Mumbai.

On September 13 last year, five blasts ripped through the national capital killing at least 21 persons and injuring over 100. The development comes a few days after the Mumbai Police filed a mammoth chargesheet against Ajmal kasab and other terrorists involved last year’s Mumbai carnage. The chargesheet has been filed in the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court.
The 11,500-page single chargesheet clubs 12 terrorism cases and provides convicting evidence of the involvement of elements from Pakistan in the Mumbai terror attacks. Mumbai police named 38 people including Pakistani nationals Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab and suspected mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Indian nationals Fahim Ansari and Sabbauddin Ahmed, arrested in the case for allegedly carrying out a recce of the targets for the attacks, were also named in the chargesheet.

Lakhvi, the suspected mastermind of the 26/11 carnage who is believed to be hiding in Pakistan, and Lashkar-e-Toiba operative Yosuf Muzzamil are mentioned in the chargesheet as wanted accused in the case.
