Bhopal March 24:

When 'Men in Blue' take on four time World Champions Australia in the second quarter final match of the Cricket World Cup 2011 on March 24, cricket lovers in the country must be anticipating whether team India could put behind their defeat to Ricky Ponting and his men in Cricket World Cup final precisely eight years and one day ago on March 23, 2003.

People still remember the Cricket World Cup 2003 final, which was held at Johannesburg in South Africa. Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, in Ahmedabad will host the first World Cup encounter between the two teams since that epic battle. Indian bowling attack had failed miserably to contain Aussies who went on a rampage to mount 359 runs in 50 overs for the loss of only two wickets.

Openers Adam Gilchrist (57) and Mathew Hayden (37) provided their team the start they needed with a century run partnership. Ponting and D Martin then stitched a 234-run unbeaten partnership with the Australian skipper remaining unbeaten at 140 from 121 deliveries. His knock included four hits to the fence and eight over it. Martin scored 88 runs from 84 balls with seven boundaries and one six.
