He was presiding over a review meeting of fourlane pojects in Himachal Pradesh here. He expressed satisfaction over the land acquisition process and directed the departments concerned to submit assessments of the leftout property, undertake evaluation of structures and utility shifting soon so that the possession could be handed over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
He said as far as the Shimla bypass section was concerned, which forms part of the fourlane project, the tenders would be awarded by December this year. A tunnel would be constructed 200 metres beyond the Dhalli Police Post which would be linked to the Mashobra-Kufri junction beyond the Dhalli bazaar. He also directed to ensure vacation of land and property on around 8.5-km front stretch near Naulakkha on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk fourlane project. It was informed that the financial bid for a fourlane bridge over the Beas at Manali would be opened on September 22 and the work would soon begin. All land acquisition awards of fourlane projects in Kullu district would be awarded by November.
The CM directed the Divisional Commissioner along with the Deputy Commissioner, Solan, to decide the cases of compensation expeditiously as the work on the project was to be awarded in this fiscal year by the NHAI.
