CONGRESS FLAYS SAD-BJP FOR “SEWA” OF ANGANWARI WORKERS

Chandigarh March 29:
Punjab Congress condemned the SAD-BJP coalition Government in the State for its widely publicised motto "Raj Nahi, Sewa," by merciless beating of women Anganwari workers at Bathinda on Thursday.
Punjab Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Punjab Congress Working president Mohinder Singh Kay Pee in a joint statement on Friday, strongly condemned the shameful, unfortunate and uncalled for brutal act of beating mercilessly, dragging and manhandling of innocent women Anganwari workers who were protesting democratically and peacefully against the Badal Government for its failure to meet their genuine demands.
They said that the way policemen and senior officials over enthusiastically tried to tie the hands of protests with a rope and drag then towards a police vehicle calls for strong condemnation by one and all.
They said that perhaps definition of so-called "Sewa" was quite different in the dictionary of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. They said that the present regime to put its failures on every front under the carpet was humiliating and meting barbaric and inhumanly treatment to those protesting demonstrators against the Government for their legitimate rights.
