CONGRESS ELECTION MANIFESTO IS A “BUNDLE OF LIES”: INLD

Chandigarh March 26:
Indian National Lok Dal secretary-general Ajay Singh Chautala described the Congress election manifesto as a “bundle of lies and a crude attempt to cheat the people of the country”.

In a statement here, he said the INLD had also sought a clarification on Congress failure to fulfil its election promises which it had made before the last Lok Sabha elections. He asserted that the people would not give another chance to the Congress as its track record over the past five years had been “full of failures and broken promises”.

The Congress party’s admission that it could not fully implement the earlier manifesto spoke loud and clear about “deceit with the common man”. “If they could not implement then, how will they do it now?” he asked.

Referring to the Congress “promise of security, dignity and prosperity for every citizen”, Mr. Chautala charged that there was no security for the common man, terrorists hit at their will and the Government could not control terrorism despite its “repeated claims”. He alleged that the security position had become so bad that the Government could not provide security to the IPL matches and the tournament had to be shifted to South Africa. The whole IPL episode had brought a bad name to the country, he added.
