State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against rampant corruption today nabbed a Clerk and Steno posted at civil Surgeon Tarn Taran red handed accepting bribe in a trap case.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that Mr. Harsimrat Singh, Steno, posted at Civil Surgeon, Tarn Taran and Sandeep Nanda, clerk posted at District Health Officer Tarntaran were nabbed red handed by a Vigilance team led by Mr. Ashok Kumar, DSP/VB Tarn Taran while he was accepting bribe of Rs. 2000/- from Balraj Singh, a complainant of village Dubali, Distt Tarn Taran for verifying date of Birth certificate of his daughter..
The complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe from him. After this VB laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. In this regard a case under Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) at Police Station /VB Amritsar has been registered against both of them and further investigation was under progress.
