BJP Uttarakhand unit president Ajay Bhatt today cleared the air regarding the Central grant to the Uttarakhand Government for the Ardh Kumbh fair.
On the sidelines of a religious function at Jagadguru Ashram, Kankhal where he sought blessings from Jagadguru Shankaracharya Raj Rajeshwaram Maharaj, Ajay Bhatt said Rs 167 crore to be released by the Niti Commission had still not been released for the fair.
Though he later added that the Niti Ayog was ready to release it, the Uttarakhand Government could not complete the formalities.
Haridwar BJP MP Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had claimed in the presence of Union Minister for Textiles Santosh Gangwar in Haridwar that Rs 167 crore had been released by the NIti Ayog for the Ardh Kumbh fair, a claim which Chief Minister Harish Rawat had refuted.
Congress Mahanagar unit president Anshul Shri Kunj took a dig at Ajay Bhatt’s claim, saying that several detailed project reports, quality certification and communiqué had been sent by the state government, but the Centre was trying to delay the grant.
