The CBI today concluded its arguments on its closure report, giving a clean chit to senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a 1984 anti-Sikh riot case on the ground that there was no evidence against him, before a Delhi court.
Terming the statements of witnesses as “false and concocted”, the prosecutor for the probe agency Sanjay Kumar submitted that they have examined the father, brother and son of Surender Singh, another witness, and they all said he was not giving correct statements.
The version of Jasbir Singh (witness) is absolutely false and concocted. He has made statements with an intention to falsely implicate Tytler,” said the CBI counsel.
To prove his point, the counsel also referred to the Jasbir’s statement before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rakesh Pandit in which he had claimed to have seen Tytler in an Ambassador car. However, according to the CBI, the former Union Minister possessed no such vehicle at that time. The counsel also termed false the statement of Jasbir that he had been given shelter by Succha Singh, saying that the witness had denied knowing him before the investigating agency. The CBI concluded its arguments before the court which asked the victim’s counsel to file a protest petition in the matter and posted the matter for February 23.
The CBI on April 2, 2009, sought to close the case against Tytler claiming lack of sufficient evidence against him. The CBI counsel had also read out statements of Surinder’s relatives and other witnesses like Harinder, Harbhajan, Kuljeet Singh Duggal to prove its stand that Tytler was not among the rioting mob surrounding Gurdwara Pulbangash in north Delhi after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

It took CBI 25 years to come up with this nonsense. Sikhs don't have a personal agenda against tytler and others, they want justice.
If according to CBI it wasn't tyter then why can't they find who was it.If they can track the shrewd masterminds behind Rajiv Gandhi's murder within months Surely they could have tracked the dumb bastards responsible of murdering innocents.
The problem is not CBI's Incompetence but the lack of political will. *
