Chennai October 23:
World Squash President (WSF) N Ramachandran, who was re-elected to the post for another term of two years, today exuded confidence of squash being included as one of the disciplines in 2020 Olympics.
Talking to reporters after the three-day 40th WSF Congress and the AGM which concluded he said the WSF could expect a positive decision in favour of squash when the International Olympic Council (IOC) meets in 2013 to take a final call on including a new sport or replacing an existing one with some other discipline for the 2020 Olympics.
He said IOC Chief was also impressed with the conduct of the sport during the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. ''The issue of the ball not being sighted during live telecast of matches has been overcome as it was clearly visible in eight hi-definition cameras that beamed the matches''.
