Bomb scare in Patiala
MANDI GOBINDGARH/PATIALA: Merely three days after the terror strike at Jaipur, the recovery of 46 electrical equipment, which dubiously appear like bombs, on Thursday has got the city worried. Though the cops have started investigations, they too seem uncertain about the recovery.
On Thursday evening, a passersby reportedly informed the police about the electrical equipment abandoned outside a godown in Kukad Majra area.
A police party — led by Sukhjit Singh, the SHO of Mandi Gobindgarh, took the materials in their possession and informed senior police officers.
Though police officers are not ready to comment on the nature of the seized equipment, they are going to take the help of local expert electricians.
Sources in the police department said the recovered equipment were lying near the wall of a godown and when a passerby tried to park his vehicle there, he came upon the package and informed the cops.
Refusing to comment on the recovery, Fatehgarh SSP Dr Kaustabh Sharma said the senior officials had been informed."Things will get clear after the probe as we have asked expert electricians to conduct investigations on the recovered material, which seems like electrical equipment," the SSP said.
In case the electricians were not able to ascertain the nature of the material, they would send the same to forensic lab for examination, he added.
