Bomb explodes in Imphal crowded market; one killed

Imphal: A powerful bomb exploded in a crowded market in Imphal in Manipur at around 11 am today, killing at least one person and injuring three others. The bomb exploded very close to the city's new convention centre that is meant to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Saturday.

The bomb was allegedly rigged to a rickshaw parked near the gate of a local exhibition area. The rickshaw-puller has been killed and three others have reportedly been injured in the blast.

The bomb exploded at the Hapta Kangjeibung ground where the Sangai festival was being celebrated.
