The Udham Singh Nagar police today recovered the decomposed bodies of two members of a Dehradun family, which had been missing since November 27. The body of an eight-year-old boy of the same family was recovered three days ago.
Rajendra Joshi, a resident of Premnagar, Dehradun, along with his mother Kamla (54) and son Bhaskar (8) had left for Rudrapur in a car, which was driven by an unidentified person, on November 27. The car was found abandoned in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh the next day.
The police said the bodies of Rajendra Joshi and his mother Kamla were found in the Sitarganj forest area, nearly 300 m from the spot where the body of Bhaskar was found. Although the police have arrested six persons, including the deceased’s younger brother, Deepak Joshi, it is yet to achieve any breakthrough in the case.
Sources said Deepak Joshi and the deceased’s neighbour Sanjeev Pant were grilled for nearly two days. Prima facie, it appears that Rajendra was murdered due to a property dispute as he owned a chunk of land in Premnagar and adjoining areas.
Rajendra was jailed in 2009 in an eve-teasing case. He had come out of the jail on bail two months ago.
SSP, Udham Singh Nagar, Kewal Khurana said they had got vital clues in the case that would help them solve it soon. SSP, Dehradun, Sadanand Datte said they were also interrogating property dealers to solve the mystery
The cellphones of suspect had been put on surveillance, he added.
