Bengaluru: Section 144 imposed in four areas after RSS worker's murder

Bengaluru city saw a day of unrest when a 35-year old RSS party worker was attacked and murdered in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon. Section 144 was imposed in Shivajinagar, Frazer Town, Commercial Street and Bharathi Nagar. The brazen attack took place near the Commercial Street area of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru.
The victim, Rudresh, was on his way home after attending an event organized by the RSS.
Eyewitnesses said that the assailants wearing masks came on a bike and attacked him with a machete.

Based on eyewitnesses, the police have sketched the attack

Rudresh was the RSS mandal president for Shivajinagar was returning after participating in a Patha Sanchalana or route march in Shivajinagar.
Rudresh stopped his bike when he spotted a few friends near Kamaraja road , when two men riding a motorcycle attacked him.
there were two men , the pillion rider had a machete in his hand. As soon as the assailants came close to Rudresh, one of them attacked him on his neck.
Onlookers and passersby tried to stop the assailants , they even threw stones on them, but they managed to escape.
The motorcycle did not have a number plate and the men were wearing masks.
Rudresh was immediately shifted to Bowring hospital in an auto rickshaw, but he as cracked 'brought dead.'

Tension prevailed in the area and shops and commercial establishments were asked to down their shutters as RSS and BJP workers took to the streets to protest the killings.
In view of the sensitive situation, a large number of police personnel including the Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed in the area.
Preliminary information from the police indicate that the murder could have taken place due to some financial dispute.
The Bengaluru city police commissioner said they are aware that Rudresh has been involved in some personal dispute and the police bandobast has been put in place to maintain law and order.
This incident is not being taken lightly by the BJP and the RSS, who have now planned massive protests on Monday in the city. The BJP workers will take out a protest march from Shivaji Circle near the Shivajinagar busstand and head towards the Police Commissioners office.
The RSS Bengaluru unit has called for a bandh of the Shivajinagar constituency to condemn the murder. They have also called for a protest march near Shivajinagar Bus Stand.
Sources say that senior leaders of the BJP and the RSS have been advised not to create any unrest that could lead to violence as it could affect the image of the party as it builds it image for the oncoming assembly elections.
