A week after the Sunam subdivisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) issued bailable warrants against the cast and crew of Punjabi movie 'Taur Mittran Di', which includes actors Jimmy Shergill and Surveen Chawla, the Moonak SDJM on Tuesday issued the same warrants against 10 other people associated with the film to ensure their presence in the court on May 28. On September 11, 2012, Arpinder Singh Sidhu, president of bar association of Moonak, had filed criminal complaint against Jimmy Shergill, co-producer of the film, charging him with defaming the lawyer community and its profession. Besides Shergill and Chawla, Sunil Lulla, producer of Eros International company; actors Rannvijay Singha, Amita Pathak and Amrinder Gill; production head, Kailash Jadhav; executive producer John Cherain; associate director Amit Prasher; editor Manish More; story writer Dheeraj Rattan; and director Navniat Singh are in the dock. In his orders on Tuesday, SDJM Harsimranjit Singh stated that in spite of summons to the accused, they had failed to attend any of the hearings, following which, bailable warrants had been issued to bring them to court. Lawyer Harinder Lally had filed a similar complaint in Sunam against the film's cast and crew, apart from Amarinder Gill and Surveen Chawla. Last week, the Sunam SDJM had issued bailable warrants to the accused on June 6.
