Punjab News Badal urges people to follow ambedkar's teachings

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal called upon the people of the state to follow the philosophy and teachings of the founder of Indian constitution B R Ambedkar to evolve a harmonious and prosperous society.

Speraking at a function at Punjabi University to commemorate the 120th Birth Anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, the Chief Minister described Dr Ambedkar as a champion of the human rights and messiah of down-trodden who strived hard throughout his life to ensure equality and self esteem for the unprivileged sections of the society.

The Chief Minister exhorted the members of the Valmiki and Majhabi Sikh community to motivate their children for education to become ideal citizens of the society to cherish the dreams of Dr Ambedkar which would be a real tribute to him.

The Chief Minister lamented that despite 64 of Independence of India the dreams of the founding fathers of Indian constitution had not yet been fulfilled as there was wide spread illiteracy, unemployment and poverty. He said that the education was the only potent medium to transform the society on one hand and to ameliorate the lot of economically poor on the other.

He said the SAD-BJP government had taken bold initiatives in the field of education be it school, college and university level as it had set up five new universities, 17 colleges, 22 model schools and 92 adarash schools toc provide quality education to our youth at all levels. H On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a book on Adh Dharam Samaj authored by its National Chief Patron Darshan Rattan Ravan.
