Chandigarh October 23:

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said the Centre had recently withdrawn his 'Z plus' security and that of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal also.

Mr Badal stated this while talking to a select group of media persons at his residence here while responding to the allegation of former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal that the state government had reduced the security of his supporter, Manjinder Singh Kang, an MLA of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

Stating that such security reviews were a routine matter, the Chief Minister said he would not blame the Centre that it was a move against him or the Deputy Chief Minister. He, however, said he had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the restoration of 'Z plus' security provided by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
