Mirpur March 5:

The West Indies team bus was stoned by angry Bangladeshi fans on its way back to the hotel after the Caribbean side thrashed the co-hosts by nine-wickets in a group A match of the cricket World Cup here.

West Indies team's media manager, Philip Spooner, confirmed the incident and said that because of the stoning two windows of the bus cracked but all the players were safe.

"We left the ground, and on our way back to the hotel, a couple of stones did hit our window," Spooner said. "Two windows were cracked, but not shattered. We are now back at the hotel, both teams are back at the hotel and are safe," he added.
