Anandpur Sahib jawan killed in J&K

Anandpur Sahib, June 30

Jawan Hardeep Singh, son of Bakshish Singh of Mahrauli village, laid down his life serving the motherland in the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir. A jawan with 2 Sikh Regiment, 28-years-old Hardeep is survived by parents, wife Jatinder Kaur and two daughters, Shivani (4) and Anjali (3). Hardeep joined the Army in 2001. He was the only son in the family.

A pall of gloom descended on the village on hearing the news of Hardeepís death. His body is expected to reach the village tonight. The martyr will be cremated tomorrow morning. His mother has not been told about the death yet.

Earlier also, a jawan from the Kiratpur Sahib area in Ropar district had sacrificed his life for the country on May 14. 23-years-old soldier Sangat Singh from 30 RR was also posted in the Kupwara sector. A resident of Cheekna village, he was the only male member in the family.
