6 KG HEROIN WORTH RS 30 CRORE SEIZED

Amritsar August 3:
The Special Narcotics Cell of the police arrested Swaran Singh alias Thanedar, a notorious Indo-Pak drug smuggler and a resident of Sarai Amanat Khan village. Police have recovered six kilogram of heroin from him, stated to be worth over Rs 30 crores in the international market.
SSP Special Narcotics Cell Tulsi Ram said that a special team had been constituted to nab the accused, following a tip-off. He added that Swaran Singh had close links with notorious Pakistani and Indian smugglers.
Police found that the consignment was smuggled from Ferozepur sector, and was to be sent to Delhi. The recovered packets of heroin bear the stamp of Pak-Afghan-Guzargarh. Investigations are on.
