Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal administered the oath of office and secrecy to four people as Commissioners of Punjab State Right to Service Commission (PSRSC).

Former IPS officer S M Sharma, former IAS officer Iqbal Singh Sidhu, SAD MLA from Verka Dalbir Singh Verka and Advocate \ Harinder Singh Dhillon were sworn in as as Commissioners of PSRSC at a simple but impressive ceremony here at Punjab Bhawan this evening. Stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the appointment and service conditions of these four newly appointed Commissioners would be issued later on.

Chief Secretary S C Agrawal conducted the proceedings of the swearing-in-ceremony. To ensure accountably of the official machinery and to provide time bound delivery of 67 citizen centric services, the state government had set up a Right to Service Commission under Section 13 of the Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011. Under Right to Service Act, time bound delivery of 47 civil services and 20 police services to the citizens would be ensured as a matter of right, besides a provision of punishment for civil servants in case they failed to comply with the prescribed timeframe.
