35 INDIANS RELEASED FROM PAK JAIL ON I-DAY

Amritsar August 16:
It was home coming for 35 Indians released from a Pakistani jail as they crossed the Attari check post to celebrate the Independence Day.
In a goodwill gesture, Pakistan had released 34 fishermen lodged at Landi jail Karachi yesterday. One Bhola of Jammu and Kashmir, who was found mentally unstable and crossed the international border inadvertently, was also released, sources said.
The fishermen hailing from Daman Diu were earlier arrested for "crossing" the territorial waters during fishing. The group, most of them in their teens, was lodged in the jail for five to 15 months.
They were taken to Kotlakhpat jail in Lahore yesterday and brought to Wagah border today for repatriation. The Indian High Commission in Islamabad had issued 'Emergency Travel Certificate' to facilitate their home coming.
