3 shot dead in sangrur

Two motorcycle-borne youths shot dead three persons and looted Rs 2 lakh from a mobile gas agency team of Bharat Petroleum on the Sunam-Mansa road at Cheema Mandi, near Sunam, last night.
Nath Singh Satauj, one of the deceased, was an active worker of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan). In protest against his killing, activists of the BKU (U), led by state president of the union Joginder Singh Ugrahan, today blocked traffic on the Sunam-Mansa road at Cheema Mandi for an hour.
Sunam DSP Joginder Singh Sandhu said the miscreants shot dead gunman of the mobile gas agency Avtar Singh, cashier Sat Narayan, and Satauj and looted about Rs 2 lakh. He said the killers also took the gun of the gunman with them. The mobile gas agency team visited Cheema from Lalroo twice a week to distribute LPG cylinders in the village, he added.
The DSP said raids were being conducted by the police parties to nab the miscreants. He said the police had registered a case under Sections 302 and 392 of the IPC besides various provisions of the Arms Act
