India would have confronted Pakistan with crucial evidence, including voice samples and email communications of the accused, related to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and some missing links in the neighbouring nation's investigation were the NSA-level talks held as per plan.
Sources said Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was yet to investigate the role played by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed in the attacks.
The FIA had also not conducted investigations in Lahore, Muridke and Muzzafarabad, the places where the 26/11 conspiracy was hatched and training was imparted to the terrorists.
The FIA had not properly investigated the ISI's role in the case and David Coleman Headley's activities in Pakistan, they said. India was also going to tell Pakistan that it had not sent evidence, which was requested in a letter sent by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court to Pakistan in 2011.
An important demand made through the letter was collecting the voice samples of Saeed and eight others, which would have helped India match these with recorded voices of accused instructing the 10 terrorists involved in the attack from a control room in Karachi. However, the NSA talks which were to be held on August 23 were cancelled.
