Two people were killed and one seriously injured when a jeep was hit by a running train on an unmanned railway crossing on Goniana-Jaito road in this district.
The jeep, used for kar seva in gurdwaras, was crossing the unmanned railway crossing this afternoon when it was hit by the oncoming Bhatinda-Ferozepur Express which dragged it on the railway track for some distance, police said.
The deceased were identified as Harbhajan Singh and Jagdev Singh, residents of Jaito, who were travelling in the jeep. Binder Singh, the driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and was referred to Medical College Hospital, Faidkot.
