She lies awake forever trapped in a hole of darkness and sorrow
Sorrow that enthralls her in its bond that forever keeps her captivated
Captivated is she, in what once was his love what has now turned to bitterness
Bitterness which has spread like a disease, a disease occupying every corner of her mind
Her mind which has forever become entangled in his thoughts.
She lies awake, as a single tear emerges from her eye, slowly transcending downwards
Downwards she is plummeting, falling, soaring to her ultimate misery
Misery spreads its black wings over her, and suddenly she has created but a flood
A Flood of her own pain her pain oh this pain in the form of tears
Tears that he will never see, nor catch, nor ever notice.
She lies awake, her mind conquered by pictures, moments in time
Time that once belonged to them, a time that has forever engraved her with images
Images of him, of them, of what would have been, of everything
Everything hits her like the cold winter wind hitting her face.
She lies awake, her frail body numb, her weak mind still, her soft heart frozen
Frozen like a place where no time, no moment, no memory is ever recorded
Recorded are the dreams which he has forever left her with
With which her whole world churns into a cocoon, a closing in which to lie abandoned.
Her eyes close.
All is lost.
All is erased.
All is forever forgotten.
And she no longer lies awake.
Sorrow that enthralls her in its bond that forever keeps her captivated
Captivated is she, in what once was his love what has now turned to bitterness
