Linux is very versatile. What do you want it to be best for? Define your use cases.
You want the general purpose one? Ubuntu is unbeatable. You want a swiss knife, use KDE. GNOME and Linux Mint are another great distros. Linux is very unlike windows if you have to unlock its full potential. I run Ubuntu on desktop, and flash performance on various websites leaves a lot to be desired. But that is not my main purpose of using linux. If it is yours, you will just spend your time configuring various stuff. Kadi aaha driver ni work karda, kadi printer ni sahi print karda.
