The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has tweeted that the West Indies' tour of India will consist of 2 Tests, 3 One Day Internationals and a three-day Warm-up game. The game will be played between the 31st of October and 27th of November.

Mumbai and Kolkata are the likely venues for the much-anticipated Test matches and the final decision will be taken by the BCCI's tours and fixtures committee.

With West Indies now giving the nod for the series to take place, it will give Sachin Tendulkar a chance to complete the historic milestone of playing 200 Tests in front of his home fans. Tendulkar has played 198 Tests so far and the second Test of this series would take him to one of the several milestones he has achieved in a glittering career.

Meanwhile, there have been no updates on the South Africa series yet, although BCCI president N Srinivasan had earlier dismissed speculations of the tour being scrapped.[/img]

The West Indies squad arrived in India in wee hours of Monday to play a two-match Test series that marks the farewell of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, and also a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the top-ranked Indian team.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said on Twitter, "After 17 hours of flying Windies arrive in India ahead of the upcoming Test Series. They will move onto to Kolkata for warm-up and 1st Test."

The West Indies cricket team trained for a week in Orlando, United States of America (USA) as a part of preparations for their tour of India.

The cricketers were involved in team building exercises as well as interaction with Jamaican sports psychologist Dr. Jason Scott Hamilton, who has worked with them for the last six months.

“We want to create a culture of unity, winning and overall success. We are not saying you’re not going to lose games — every team will lose games — but it is how we lose. We should always go down to the end in every game,” said West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron.

After the tour of India, the West Indies will travel to New Zealand for three Tests, five one-dayers and two T20 Internationals.
