Wenger: Santos better than people think

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has leaped to the defence of left-back Andre Santos, insisting the Brazilian is a better defender than people think.
The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from Turkish side Fernerbarce in the summer and has enjoyed mixed reviews at the Emirates so far.
There is little doubt over his ability going forward - scoring his first goal for the club in the 5-3 win over Chelsea last weekend.
However, his defensive qualities remain a doubt among the Emirates faithful after a couple of shaky moments at the back.
But Wenger has now stepped in to defend Santos, whom he believes has what it takes to do the job defensively for the Gunners.
"I'm happy when he has the ball and I feel that personally he is much better defensively than many people think," the Frenchman was quoted as saying in talkSPORT.
"He's getting stronger with every game, he's a very intelligent boy who learns very quickly and of course he has to adapt to the pace of the English game, it's not easy to play game after game."
Arsenal welcome West Brom on Saturday in the Barclays Premier League, where they are currently in seventh-place.
