Sydney: Test great Shane Warne has not ruled out a return to professional cricket in Australia's revamped Big Bash Twenty20 tournament starting in December.

Warne, 42, formally retired from top-class cricket in May after the Rajasthan Royals' last game of the 2011 Indian Premier League. He played his last Test match for Australia in 2007, finishing with a then-world record 708 Test wickets.

Warne, who got engaged to British actress Elizabeth Hurley earlier this month, said yesterday he has had offers to play in the Big Bash, but was still weighing his options.

"As far as the Big Bash, there's been a lot of offers for it. I haven't had a chance to catch up, so I haven't really sat down and done the pros and cons and see if I want to do it," Warne said.

Despite not playing for five months, Warne has shed 12 kilograms.

"I'm the fittest I've been in my life," Warne said.
