Sri Lankan off-spinner Sachithra Senanayake, who was reported for a suspect bowling action during the 4th ODI against England at Lord's, will undergo a biomechanical test at the Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Senanayake, who was not part of the Test match squad, returned to the island nation after the completion of the 5-match ODI series but will now fly back to the UK to undergo testing.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Sri Lanka Cricket's CEO Ashley de Silva said: "Senanayake will go in for ICC scrutiny at the Cardiff Metropolitan University within the next few days. We have notified the ICC our option and they in turn will reserve a date for Senanayake to attend the sessions."

Senanayake's action in the lab will be closely monitored to see if his elbow flexes beyond 15 degrees and the ICC will also compare it with actual footage from recent matches to make sure that the bowler reproduces the action with which he bowls for his country.

This is the second time that Senanayake's bowling action will go under the scanner. In January 2012, he had to go through a similar kind of test at the University of Western Australia after he was reported during Sri Lanka's A-tour of England. However, his action was later cleared by the ICC.
