Nasir stars in Bangladesh win

All-rounder Nasir Hossain cracked an unbeaten ton and picked up a five-wicket haul to ensure a comfortable 65-run victory for Bangladesh A over India Aas the visitors levelled the three-match series 1-1 here today.
After posting 252/8 in the allotted 50 overs, Bangladesh A shot out the hosts for 187 in 42.2 overs. Put in to bat, the visitors lost early wickets, but Hossain’s unbeaten 96-ball 102 helped the side reach a respectable total in 50 overs. The 70-run sixth-wicket partnership between Hossain and Liton Das (45) turned it around for the visitors. Soumya Sarkar (24), Anamul Haque (34) and Arafat Sunny (17) also made significant contributions to the total. For India A, medium-pacer Rishi Dhawan bagged three wickets, while leg-spinner Karn Sharma claimed two scalps.
While chasing the target, the Unmukt Chand-led side never looked in the game after the top-order batsmen flopped again. The India A batsmen struggled against the medium pace of Rubel Hossian (4/33) and Hossian’s off-spin (5/36).
Looking for some batting practice before the South Africa series, senior batsman Suresh Raina faltered for the second time. He was caught behind off Nasir for just 17; the left-hander had managed just 16 in the first game. The middle and the lower-middle order, too, failed this time; as a result, the entire batting line-up collapsed like a house of cards. Chand top-scored with 56 runs for the hosts.
