Pakistan's comfortable victory over Bangladesh in their first match has helped them improve their net run rate. However, they have taken a slight hit after losing to their arch-rivals India in their second match.

After their defeat to New Zealand, Shahid Afrid's side need to beat Australia to stay alive in the competition. Should they lose to Australia, they are out of the tournament.

If Pakistan beat Australia and then Australia beat India, then Australia, Pakistan and India will have same points and team with better net run rate will go through.
