Garrido proud despite defeat

Villarreal coach Juan Carlos Garrido had only good words for his side despite their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Grp A: Bayern Munich 3-2 Napoli
The Yellow Submarine continued their worrying form of late as they succumbed to their more illustrious opponents at home through a Yaya Toure double and a penalty by Mario Balotell.
Speaking after the match, under-pressure coach Garrido praised his side's efforts and insists there is still a long way to go in the season.
"We were without six or seven very important players tonight [Wednesday] but those who were available gave their best. More important than getting players back is that I can see the team still has a good attitude; we worked together," he was quoted as saying in UEFA.com.
"We are rising above the knocks we have been taking. We are still in November and there are seven months of competition ahead of us; we have a lot of objectives we want to fulfil. We will try our best to take the six points available to us in our final two Champions League games."
The Spanish outfit's hopes of progressing into the knock-out stages are all but over as they sit bottom of Group A with zero points.
And Garrido has now shifted his attention domestically as he hopes to get some of his players back from injury.
He added: "We want to get back up there in the Liga while the [Spanish] Cup will begin shortly. The start [to the season] hasn't been what we expected but more and more we find ourselves capable of fighting.
"We need to start getting players back and winning games, which would represent a big morale boost for us. The next few games are vital. The squad we have here is capable of getting out of this.
"Today 11 players in a squad of 18 came from the youth set-up. That is a point in Villarreal's favour as it shows the youth programme is working and it gives confidence to the young players to know that they have an opportunity of coming through the ranks."
Villarreal travel to Bayern Munich next on 22 November.
