India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday approached the Madras high court seeking Rs 100 crore damages from Zee News and other defendants over defamatory news about him related to the betting scandal in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League.

The court passed an interim order on the suit, restraining Zee TV from telecasting any news involving him in last year's IPL betting scandal.

Dhoni, who led India to the World Cup title in 2011 and the World T20 title in 2007, has denied his involvement in any match-fixing activities.
