Allegri: AC Milan were too wasteful

AC Milan manager Massimilano Allegri believes his side were too wasteful in their 1-1 Champions League stalemate with BATE Borisov.
Although the Serie A side went ahead early, courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike, but failed to capitalise afterward, and had to share the points in Minsk after conceding a penalty in the second half, which was converted by Rennan Bressan.
Allegri was frustrated by his forward's profligacy, rueing to Sky Sport Italia: "We missed too many goalscoring chances in the first half."
"We made mistakes in the final third, and when you fail to finish off the game you risk giving away penalties, corners, and it's a shame as we should have won this game.
"In the first half we did well but we kept on missing our chances."
He also took time to reveal that his squad had kept Antonio Cassano in their thoughts, as the Italian is recovering a mysterious illness that strickened him since last weekend.
"It has not been an easy situation for us, this is clear. We would have liked to have dedicated a win to him, but unfortunately this was not the case," concluded the coach.
AC Milan will next face Catania on Sunday.
