Ajman season off to a fine start

Dubai: The Ajman Cricket Council season commenced with Maqdoom of Innovation team hitting an unbeaten century and GIH Club's Saud and Emirates Islamic Banks' Kashif Ahmad missing their centuries.
Maqdoom's unbeaten 124 runs off 67 balls contained 13 boundaries and seven sixes. His knock helped Innovation post 213 for 4 in the Invitation League match against Eleven Eagles. Innovation won the match, bowling out Eagles for 95 runs despite a breezy 70 by Adnan.
Saud of GHI Cricket Club remained unbeaten on 98 as his team reached the target. GHI restricted Age Steel to 139 in 19 overs in a junior division match. Saud single-handedly thrashed the Age Steel attack to win the match by nine wickets in 16 overs.
Kashif Ahmad missed his century by 14 runs but helped Emirates Islamic Bank post 181 for 9 in 20 overs in the senior league match. They restricted MIR Cricket Club to 142 in 18 overs. Ahmad's 86 came off 49 balls.
The junior league witnessed a fine all-round show by Fahad Othman Of Dnata Operations against Carfare. He took three wickets for 21 to restrict Carfare to 115 for 7 and hit 59 runs off 28 balls.
