Removing Fake Nails

You Will Need

  • Acetone Polish Remover
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • Nail Buffer
  • Nail Clippers
  • Glass Bowl
  • A Garbage Bag
Instructions

  • Start your process by removing your fake nails. However, before that find a clutter free work area for yourself. You wouldn’t really want to remove your nails at a messy table or in the kitchen as it would only make things difficult for you to go about with your intricate steps of removing your fake nails. You will have to make it a point to find a clean and clutter free table to begin your work. Cover the surface of the table with a garbage bag or newspapers to help soak up spills and prevent damage to the surface of your table.
  • Once you are done with setting up your table, proceed to get everything that you will need to remove your nails and place it neatly on the table. This will include the nail buffer, the nail clippers, a glass bowl, petroleum jelly and acetone polish remover. If you desire to ‘unwind’ when removing your fake nails, you can always pour yourself a drink or a cup of coffee. However, make sure that you don’t spill the same onto the table.
  • With precision and expert timing, use the nail clippers to cut the fake nails as short as possible. Cutting your fake nails really short will only make it easy for you to remove them later.
  • Fill a glass bowl with acetone nail polish remover. You will have to soak your nails into the solution later on to help dissolve the fake nail glue.
  • Apply a coat of petroleum jelly onto the skin surrounding your nails. The petroleum jelly will help prevent your skin from turning dry when you soak your nails in the bowl of acetone polish remover. Applying jelly onto your nails will render the polish remover ineffective.
  • Now dip your fingers into the bowl of acetone nail polish remover. Soak your nails in the solution for around fifteen to twenty minutes.
  • Remove your hands from the bowl after you are done with. Slowly and gently make attempts to peel off the fake nails. If you find it tough to peel off the fake nails, just soak your nails in the acetone solution for another five minutes. However never try to rip off your fake nails!
  • Once you are done with removing your fake nails, head to a sink and thoroughly wash your hands with soap to remove the petroleum jelly and any other residue.
  • If you however still notice nail glue on your nails, you can simply use the nail buffer to buff off the same.
