Family drama has few takers
After making a good start on Thursday, We Are Family couldn’t show much promise in terms of trade. The movie did average business over the weekend, resulting in decent collections.
What did the trick for the film was its releasing day; it got released on Thursday (Janmashtami holiday) instead of Friday and benefitted by it. We Are Family managed an average weekend of Rs 14.25 crore approx, thanks to this early release.
We Are Family is expected to do a total business of Rs 18-20 crore approx by the end of first week, and since Dabangg is releasing on September 10, the chance of We Are Family continuing a good run at BO is bleak.
Peepli [Live] adds another Rs 2 crore approx to its collection. As per reports the business was much steadier in week three than week two. Peepli [Live] should cross the Rs 30 crore mark.
